I held a gathering at our local Botanical Gardens.I didn't get the numbers I had hoped for, as the weather turned a bit nasty but for those that turned up it ended up being a beautiful day and great catching up with people.

DSAV family day (just happened to be on today!)

Well as far as today is concerned, I've done nothing. I've actually been in bed sick most of the day, not fun...

Last week at morning meeting at school I warned that today was World Down Syndrome Day and that all this week I would be bombarding them with info about Down syndrome. Then I said, "Actually I want you all to go away over the next few days and find out just ONE thing about Down syndrome that you can share next week so we can build up a list of facts and dispel some of the myths about Down syndrome." So it will be interesting to see if anyone has got anything to say at morning meeting this week

I have had the most wonderful World Down Syndrome Day possible. The weather held off for DSAQ's Teddy Bears Picnic held at the Wynnum foreshore today. We had a magician do a little show and then make balloon animals for the kids, a face painter, a craft station where the kids did paintings and of course the teddy parade. We had a great turn out - I'm hopeless at estimating numbers but would say we hit at least 150 people.

I commented to a few mums at the end of the day that it felt like a big family party!

I was very tempted to take home some of the gorgeous bubs I got to cuddle haha.

It was a fantastic day Raych. Thank you to all of you who made it possible. I know what you mean about the cute little bubs. Soooo many gorgeous little one's. Makes me realise how grown up Blake is (where did that time go??). Blake was totally enthralled with the magician.
