But what if your baby has Down Syndrome........

When I was pregnant with Talitha I was pressured to have an amnio. They told me that I had a reasonably high risk of having a baby with DS because of my age. I told them "NO". I had lost three babies to miscarriage before Talitha and I wasn't going to risk it. They pressured me a lot to have it but I refused because I was not going to kill my baby no matter what.

I am so glad that I didn't have it. I would never have coped if I had lost her. And I can say honestly that I would happily have another child with DS.

I was quite ignorant before Jirah, and assumed all parents of kids with special needs were superheros. I wish more people would come to the realisation like this guy did. We are just regular people, caring for our children like anybody else.

Pretty confronting. I've heard of people trying to make the argument that not terminating is irresponsible, it'd be pretty scary if this became a common or dominant perspective in our society.
