| Basically, the Australian government doesn't want these 'undesirables'. We can adopt from overseas, but not kids with disabilities or sicknesses. Truly a sad sad state of affairs. I have even considered going back to NZ temporarily and adopting from there, but that would screw up Samara's citizenship status (she has to live in Australia until she is 10). | |

| Thanks Carolyn It's disgusting isn't it to think there are families here who could definately provide these kids with a loving caring family life. | |

| I don't quite understand what it means that his name is Red, Cathy? Where are these children now? I am still trying to work out the whole system.
Would be so great, woudn't it, if all the kids who needed parents could be matched with all the parents who would be happy to raise them in a loving caring environment. Why is the world so mixed up?

| Cas, I think it means that he is turning 4 and will then be transferred to an institution, where they don't allow them to be adopted. | |

| Sam, I think it is only in certain eastern european countries that transfer the children to the adult institutions when they are 4 and then they can no longer be adopted- it is really sad. I remember reading one adoption blog, that when a woman hopped off the plane in the respective country that the child she wanted to adopt was already 30 minutes into the bus journey to the adult institution. Luckily for that child the director of the orphanage called the bus driver to bring the little one back, and he is now living with a family in USA. | |
