- Young people with Down syndrome, and their families, went to Government House yesterday to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day and drink tea.
The event is usually held on March 21, but this year it clashed with Good Friday so was changed to March 12.
Governor-General Anand Satyanand awarded National Achievement Awards to Jonathan Ellis, 19, of Wellington, Vincenzo Vaccarino, 13, of Palmerston North, and Peter Rees, 18, of Christchurch.
