Education reporter Angry villagers are backing a couple's campaign to get their Down's Syndrome son into his local primary school.
Despite being a pupil at West Rainton Primary School's nursery, four-year-old Thomas Pybus, has been refused a place in the school's reception class.
Devastated parents, Donna and Craig Pybus, who live in Fair View, just a two-minute walk from the school, were stunned when they got a letter saying Thomas didn't have a place for September.
Donna, 34, a nursing home care worker, said Durham County Council has offered her only child a place at Belmont Cheveley Park Primary School, which she says is more than two miles away from their home... read more... | |
