New Cuban research on Down Syndrome children

Quote :: A new scientific research project, the first phase of which will be focussed on the enzymatic study of Down Syndrome children, will be run for the first time in Cuba at Sancti Spiritus’s pediatric hospital with the cooperation of Havana’s Ozone Investigation Center.

During the first phase of the study –to be started January with some thirty children from this province’s municipalities of Cabaiguán, Sancti Spiritus and Trinidad- researchers will try to determine the children’s oxidative stress degree (blood biochemical disorders) which makes them vulnerable to different diseases.
