Self Advocacy

I have just discovered a wonderful woman named Astra Milberg. I read her letter to the baby who fell 45m from a suspension foot-bridge and survived. The baby had Down syndrome (there's advantages to low muscle tone!!)

So I went looking for information on Astra Milberg and this is what I found:

She's the recipient of a Staff Achievement Award at Ontario Association on Developmental Disabilities

She has volunteered at Earl Haig Daycare Centre, Ontario Camp for the Deaf, amongst others.

She's the recipient of a Community Action Award from the Government of Ontario

She has narrated a video for the Ontario Association for Community Living

Does anyone else know of any other great self advocates?
